Dairy and Fattening Husbandry
General Description
Dairy and Fattening Husbandry Program, Karacabey Vocational School, was opened in 2012 under the Department of Crop and Animal Production. Of 1996-2009 "Animal Husbandry and Health", in 2009-2012 the "Big and Small Head Animal Husbandry" as the name of the program that was given training in 2012, changed by the Council of Higher Education.
This department is subject to 120 ECTS credits short cycle (first base) gradation system in Dairy and Fattening Husbandry Program field in higher education. When the program is completed successfully and program proficiency is gained, Short Cycle Grade in Dairy and Fattening Husbandry Program

Specific Admission Requirements
Candidates must have high school diploma and obtained the required score in YGS2 in University Student Selection Exam or candidates can be accepted without an examination from relavant high schools to relevant departments in vocational schools.

Specific arrangements for the recognition of prior learning
The provisions in “Regulation on Transfer among Associate and Undergraduate Degree Programs, Double Major, and Subspecialty and the Principals of Credit Transfer among Institutions in Higher Education Institutions” are applied.

Qualification Requirements and Regulations
To get short cycle degree in Dairy and Fattening Husbandry Program field, students should pass all of the mandatory and optional courses in the program (equivalent to 120 ECTS in total) and general weighted average mark should be at least 2.0 out of 4.0.

The aim of Dairy and Fattening Husbandry Program’s is; training technicians who are aware of the issues about livestock breeding, feeding and basic knowledge of health issues and have the ability to think independently.

Occupational Profiles of Graduates With Examples
Food, Agriculture and Animal Husbandry Ministry as a technician, private ranches, feed producing factories and farmers´ organizations can work in the field of animal.

Access to Further Studies
Exam candidates who have successfully completed undergraduate studies in Vertical Transfer (DGS) and the Faculties of Veterinerian and Faculties of Agriculture, Animal Science Department of the extent of quota can study through the undergraduate programs

Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading
At the beginning of each semester each student must register and attend to classes at least 70%, and 80% for applications in order to take final exam. Students are subjected to for each course at least one midterm and final exam. Success grade, midterm exam (as the midterm grade homework, laboratory exams, quizzes, etc. can be evaluated in the scores obtained from measuring instruments) contributed 40% and 60% in the form of contribution to the final exam. All exams are evaluated over 100 points. Final exam are required to obtain at least 50 points. A student AA, BA, BB, CB and CC has received a letter grade, students are considered successful from that course. DC and DD notes are notes that conditionally successful. DC or DD grade in a course is considered successful If overall weighted grade point average is at least 2.0.

Graduation Requirements
Program to successfully complete all the courses available in the program (120 ETCS) to pass on a 4.00 weighted grade point average of at least 2.0 to achieve and must successfully complete the internship.

In the program, with the feeds and animal nutrition, animal husbandry and breeding of two instructors are experts in the subject. Provided information on key issues in education in the classroom for the first two years, while in the second year, thanks to compulsory and elective courses for the profession, to train the student´s work aims to provide emphasis to practical training in the sector. Courses practices in the Karacabey Vocational School within the framework of the cooperation between SÜTAŞ and Uludag University are Educational Farm and Feed Factory.
