General Description
Insurance Program is opened under the Department of Economics and Administrative Science in 2006-2007 Education and Teaching Term. The name of the program is changed as "Banking and Insurance Program" under the Department of Finance, Banking and Insurance which used to be Insurance Program.
Students who have successfully completed all courses and had at least 120 ECTS, has the associate degree.

Specific Admission Requirements
Although candidates are required to have a high school or equivalent school diploma, all admission and registration conditions are determined by ÖSYM in line with the relevant legislation of YÖK.

Specific arrangements for the recognition of prior learning
The provisions in “Regulation on Transfer among Associate and Undergraduate Degree Programs, Double Major, and Subspecialty and the Principals of Credit Transfer among Institutions in Higher Education Institutions” are applied.

Qualification Requirements and Regulations
In order to graduate from the program students must have at least 2,00 GPA out of 4,00 and 120 ECTS. In addition, students should successfully complete the summer internship. The duration of internship is at least 30 days.

Profile of The Programme
The aim of the programme is to train qualified professional staff for the banking and insurance sector.
This programme provides theoretical and practical education at the associate level for two years and the education language is Turkish. The programme has 30 students Students may carry out on-job training at least 2 days an academic year.

Occupational Profiles of Graduates With Examples
Areas where our gaduates are employed are:
-Banks´ general offices, regional offices and branches,
-General offices and regional offices of insurance companies,
- Insurance agents and insurance brokers,
- General offices and regional offices of the Individual pension companies,
-Working with insurance adjusters,
-In case necessary provisions are met, they can work as insurance adjusters and agents,
-In case necessary conditions are met by the Capital Markets Board, they can work as money and capital markets brokerage and work at leasing and factoring companies.

Access to Further Studies
Those who have successfully completed the two-year associate degree education can enroll in four-year undergraduate programs suitable for their field, if they are successful in the Vertical Transfer Examination (DGS).

Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading
Each student registered at the beginneing of the semester should attend %80 of the theoretical and % 70 of the practical lessons in order to have the opportunity to take the necessary tests. Each student should have at least one mid-term an one final exam. Mid-term (can also include homework, quiz etc.) has the weight of %40, and final exam has the %60 fotr the over all %100 success. All exams are evaluated over 100 points. Each student must have at least 50 points at the final exam. For a student to be successful, s/he must get at least an average of 50 points. A student who gets an AA, BA, BB, CB and CC will be successful. DC and DD are contitional success grades. Students who get DC or DD should have at least a GPA of 2.00.

There is three lecturers at the programme. Besides these, there are other lecturers from other programmes of the vocational school who asist the programme. There are 8 lecturers at the vocational school.
The lessons are performed at the classes where projects and smart boards are installed. Students can also take advantage of using the library, conference rooms and the computer lab. During the education, the programme organizes seminers given by experts and technical trips to the realted areas.
