19 Objective of the Course: To be able to sing, analyse tonal and atonal melodies with different clefs and considering the musical properties and dictate the melodies.being heard

21 Learning Outcomes:
1 To be able to sing pieces in different clefs considering their musical properties.;
2 To be able to work out rhytmical structures formed by modified beat units and different time signatures;
3 To be able to make a formal and harmonic analysis by relating chord and melody.;
4 To be able to recognize different modulation types on the pieces being sung, dictated and sight-read.;
5 To be able to dictate the homophonic or polyphonic melodies heard.including the cumulative knowledge of music theory gained;
6 To be able to explain the reflection of different periods and styles on performing techniques.;
7 To be able to make explanations on the 20th century alternatives of tonal system and the concept of atonality.;
22 Course Content:
Week Theoretical Practical
1 Mode and tonality
2 Commonly used various modes
3 Modulation to close and distant keys,
4 F clef types, studying of pieces written baritone clef (f clef on the 3th line of the stave)
5 Chords composed of four tones, simple and compound intervals
6 Different forms/restructures of beat units in simple, compound and unequal meters,
7 Dynamics and articulation on the pieces selected among the repertoire.
8 Repeting of the subjects- Midterm exam
9 Concept of atonality, samples of selected the repertoire.
10 Relating chord and melody, 7th and 9th chords.
11 Formal analyze of pieces, Symbols of musical form,
12 Switches between simple and compound meters
13 Pieces in which g clef, f clef and c clef switch.
14 A general overlook at concept of style through pieces selected among the repertoire.)
