19 Objective of the Course: To be able to sing, analyse anal dictate the selected solfeges/pieces comprehending elements of music.
20 Contribution of the Course to Professional Development
21 Learning Outcomes:
1 To be able to practice terms of tempo, loudnes and expression while singing solfeges (pieces);
2 To be able to recognize various structures of beat units used at different types of meter.;
3 To be able to explain the solutions tonal positions and the quality of intervals;
4 To be able to identify the types, inversions and codes of of chords.;
5 To be able to define concepts of mode and tonality.;
6 To be able to show the relationship between tonalities on the pieces sung or dictated.;
7 To be able to use the cumulative knowledge of music theory gained while dictating the homophonic and polyphonic melodies being heard. To be able to read the melodies written in F clef and G clef including the knowledge gained in music theory.;

22 Course Content:
Week Theoretical Practical
1 Structure elements of music, melody and rhythm elements
2 Different phrase structures, perfect and half cadence.
3 Concepts of mode and tonality, circle of fifth.
4 Simple and compound meters, triads with their symbols.
5 Closely related and distantly related tonalities, modulation.
6 Dynamics and articulation in the pieces selected among the repertoire.
7 Tonal positions and solutions of intervals and chords.
8 Repeating courses- Mıdterm exam
9 Chords composed of four tones and their symbols
10 Modulation to close and distant tonalities, alteration
11 Rhythms formed by different divisions of beat units in simple and compound meters,
12 The concept of transposition, pieces in which g and f clefs switch.
13 Developed phrase structures, introduction to musical form
14 Reading and analysing the right level pieces written in F or G clef.
