Objective of the Course: |
To put the world view of the Qur’an with the help of the main concepts –Allah, Universe and Human- which are required to take into account and to develop a definiton not only by Islam but also by all religions, ideologies and currents.To examine systematically the theoretical (beliefs and morals) and practical (worships, social transactions and contracts, and punishments) aspects of the Qur’an, and to get results about the universal and ultimate goals of the Qur’an. To make remarks about the Islamic culture and civilisation formed in the course of the history, and also contemporary problems and solutions from the point of a Qur’an-centric approach. |

Learning Outcomes: |

Obtain a general view about the concepts of Allah, universe and human as fundamental concepts of religion. ;

Have a systematical understanding about the core concepts of religion such as Allah, universe and human, and main approaches which makes each of them their centre, and the relations between them, consequently to get to know the characteristics of the Qur’an’s world view.;

Consider the contrast between the seen and the unseen (concrete-abstract) in the world; body and soul in human, form and meaning in language as the results of only methodical differences in perception of the facts and relative divisions, not of, in fact, ontological differences. As a consequent of this consideration, to evaluate the concept of “Unity (Tawhid)” of Islam with the principle that “The being is exist, one and complete”, and to see how this principle has reflected upon the parts of the being and upon the religious system with the help of conceptional analysis.;

See the dual system in religion as its theoretical and practical aspects like body and soul in human, and that these two different parts are an entity that sustain each other and in fact the same. ;

Understand that the restrictions in the practical areas of the religion such as worship, social transactions and contracts, and punishments are actually devoted to developing the spiritual world of human. ;

Become an individual and educator who has solved the dilemma of body-soul by realizing that the theoretical aspect of the religion is its soul, and the practical aspects of it is its body.;

Become a tolerant and loving person in the light of religious judgments resulted by the beliefs and morals of religion. ;

Understand that the religion has to be lived in his inner and outer world as a whole. ;

See the best way of guiding the religion is to live it in both his inner and outer world with an understanding that the Qur’an whose addressee, scope, aim, in short everything is human, has an antropo-centric approach which takes a task of education.;
