19 Objective of the Course: To focus upon concepts, methods, issues, and values those are fundamental to, and significant within the history of modern philosophy. The main objective of this course is to introduce the students to some of the main problems and philosophical thoughts in the history of modern philosophy.
20 Contribution of the Course to Professional Development
21 Learning Outcomes:
1 Philosophers, major movements, issues and philosophical systems in the modern philosophy are learned.;
2 The problems/issues of the history of philosophy that have shaped the modern thought are conceived.;
3 The philosophycal background of the fundamental political concepts in the modern Western thought: democracy, equality, liberty and human rights, etc. are learned.;
4 Ability in critical thinking skills is gained.;
5 Ability to read, interpret, recognize, express, and analyze arguments in modern philosophical texts is gained.;
6 The differences and continuation of modern and classical Western philosophy are learned.;
7 The relationship of modern life, art, religion, literature, technics and modern science with modern philosophy are learned.;
8 Student recognizes the diversity of human experience across a range of historical periods and cultural perspective.;
9 Student can evaluate an argument of a modern philosopher in terms of the rigor of its logic and the plausibility of its premises.;
10 The relationship between modern philosophy and religion and different perspectives on religion in the modern thought are learned.;
