19 Objective of the Course: This course aims to give the students a thorough understanding of the theoretical underpinnings to the various current classroom practices in the field of TESOL. There will be a central focus on the learner in the FL classroom; the place of the language in the FL classroom; and the wider cultural context of both the FL being taught, and the classrooms it is being taught in. Students will be expected to review and analyse the national and international literature on FL teaching, and to synthesise this knowledge to produce their own work.

21 Learning Outcomes:
1 To improve and deepen theoretical and applied knowledge base in the field of foreign language teaching;
2 To improve knowledge on the social and psychological dimensions of foreign language teaching;
3 To review, understand and interpret international literature on foreign language teaching;
4 To improve academic skills necessary for the application of knowledge base acquired in the field of foreign language teaching to English language teaching ;
5 To posses language skills necessary for obtaining and generating knowledge at the highest level ;
6 To analyze problems observed in the process of foreign language teaching within cause-effect relationship and to develop alternative solutions by following current literature;
7 To acquire necessary skills for using technology and relevant Internet sources in order to increase the effectiveness of foreign language teaching process;
8 To evaluate and interpret foreign language teaching methods within the dimensions of classroom research and professional development and to set relevant professional goals;
