19 Objective of the Course: The aim of this course is to introduce the history of Europe to the students from the breakup of the Roman Empire to the dawn of the Renaissance. Among the topics to be covered in the course will be: the end of the ancient world; the Rise of Christianity; the era of migrations; the Carolingian Empire, the Vikings, Feudalism, Papacy and the Crusades.

21 Learning Outcomes:
1 Be able to examine the historical events in an objective viewpoint.;
2 Be able to use basic sources of Medieval history.;
3 Define the basic concepts of everyday life in the Middle Ages.;
4 Identify the major concepts of medieval European history.;
5 Interpret the social and political origins of European feudalism by examples.;
6 To explain by examples how religion impacts the social, political and economic life of the communities.;
7 Comprehend the social, political and economic reasons of the Reformation.;
8 Be able to identify the geographical boundaries of the Medieval Europe. ;
9 To comprehend the developments in educational and cultural life of medieval Europe.;
