19 Objective of the Course: The aim of this course is having the teacher trainees acquire using the natural language and body language in a correct and effective way by getting them to comprehend the main principles of a good speech.
20 Contribution of the Course to Professional Development
21 Learning Outcomes:
1 For improving Turkish culture and art, initially Turkish language and Turkish literature, to learn the features of Turkish and literature works, that are created with this language and to transmit these learned features to the practices that will be done.;
2 To know the natural language and body language and to learn the features of a good speech and use them.;
3 To pay attention to the stress, intonation, pause and diction in speaking.;
4 To be able to make a prepared and unprepared speech.;
5 To be able to choose his/her own subject and classify them in his/her speech.;
6 To be able to identify point of view, theme and sub-theme of a speech.;
7 To plan the speech, write the text of the speech and present the speech.;
8 To apply the examples of mutual speech.;
9 To be able to make a prepared speech in different subjects, and correct the mistakes about the language and verbal expression in the speeches.;
10 By understanding teacher’s role in guidance and the ways to acknowledge the student, to know and apply them in different learning approaches along with the students’ developmental features.;

1 Main features of verbal language and verbal communication
2 Verbal expression; the main features of the skill of speaking (using the natural language and body language)
3 Main principles of a good speech; Main features of a good speaker (stress, intonation, pause, diction)
4 Prepared and unprepared speech; phases of a prepared speech (choosing and classifying the subject)
5 Prepared and unprepared speech; phases of a prepared speech (identifying aim, point of view, theme, sub-theme)
6 Prepared and unprepared speech; phases of a prepared speech (planning, writing the text; presentation of the speech)
7 Types of speech I: (mutual speech, dialogue, introducing himself to somebody, answering questions)
8 Types of speech : (newyear, birthday, feast,etc. celebrating an important day)
9 Types of speech : (giving directions, speaking on the phone,asking for a work)
10 Types of speech : (meeting with someone, interviewing, speech on the radio and television, participating in different cultural and artificial programs as a speaker)
11 Making unprepared speech in different subjects
12 Studying on the examples of speech
13 Applications of verbal expression, correction of the mistakes about language and verbal expression in speeches
