19 Objective of the Course: The aim of the lesson is to get students to comprehend the educational policies of the Republican era in a historical holistic way and to provide a better understanding of the current education system.

21 Learning Outcomes:
1 Obtains the information about the structure of the Turkish education system and changes in this system. ;
2 Evaluates the effects of political policies on social structure with the aspect of training. ;
3 Draw a comparison the educational policies of political powers.;
4 Evaluates the political, economic and social processes that affect educational policies.;
5 Evaluates the Important contacts in the field of educational history, events and practices aspect of the impacts on educational applications.;
6 Scopes out about the problems of today's education system.;
7 Use the scientific method for detecting and solving problems related to education.;
8 Evaluate the Turkish education system in comparison with the western education system.;

1 Introducing the general concepts, such as the education system, Education, politics. Westernization in Education, The Education Regulations in Tanzimat and Meşrutiyet Periods
2 The basic features of education in the period of National Struggle
3 The Education Policies.Integrated with the National Struggle. The meeting of Education Congress, The evaluation Sevres and Lausanne Peace aspects of educational policies
4 The Minister of Education in the Transition from the Republic of Turkey: Ismail Safa. Özler and his regulations.
5 The Revolutionary Attact in the Republican Education: The Tevhid-i Tedrisat Law and it’s Practice
6 The literacy campaign in the Republic of Turkey, public schools, public education
7 Repeating courses and midterm exam
8 The primary, secondary, vocational-technical education in the Republic of Turkey,, innovation and developments in this systems. (use of foreign experts, syllabus and textbooks)
