19 Objective of the Course: Theoretical and practical education in all aspects of conservation and restoration of mosaic and fresco works.

21 Learning Outcomes:
1 To learn mosaic, wall painting and fresco typology.;
2 To learn technical studies about mosaic, wall painting and fresco conservation and restoration.;
22 Course Content:
Week Theoretical Practical
1 Mosaic definition. Mosaic Historical development Mosaic types and classification Application of imitation artifact from ancient Mosaic example.
2 Mosaic Distortion Reasons and Conservation. Slide presentation from mosaic samples. Application of imitation artifact from ancient Mosaic example.
3 Onsite protection methods. Giving the separation methods that can be applied to those who can not be kept in place. Restoration methods that can be applied when mosaics are exhibited in the museums. Application of imitation artifact from ancient Mosaic example.
4 Wall painting and Fresk definition. Wall painting and Fresk's historical development and construction techniques Application of restoration and conservation works by making imitation works from ancient Mosaic examples.
5 Repairs of wall paintings and frescoes that are swollen or spilled into pieces. Application of restoration and conservation works by making imitation works from ancient Mosaic examples.

7 Determination of causes of deterioration caused by heat, light and humidity of the wall paintings and frescoes brought to daylight and conservation work such as hardening which can be taken against them.
