19 Objective of the Course: To enable students to use terms related to orchestra and to improve their skills in translating artistic texts in English.

21 Learning Outcomes:
1 To be able to translate biographies of Contemporary Turkish music composers from Turkish to English, ;
2 To be able to translate the synopsis of concert programs from Turkish to English;
3 To be able to design an original concert program in English ;
4 To be able to define terms related to orchestral music, and classification of instruments;
5 To be able to translate a text about conducting and orchestral performances from English to Turkish;
6 To be able to express views about the history of orchestra and the development of modern orchestra;
7 To be able to translate texts about ancient instruments and ancient music from English to turkish;

3 Biographies of prominent Turkish conductors
4 Synopsis of a concerto
5 Synopsis of a Symphony
6 Synopsis of an overture or orchestra suit

8 Biographies of foreign soloists and conductors
9 Synopsis of an orchestral piece Handing in the Project work
10 Preparing an original concert program of one’s own in English.
11 Orchestral music, seating arrangement and orchestral instruments
12 The conductor, learning about orchestral instruments
13 History of orchestra, develpoment of modern orchestra
