19 Objective of the Course: The main objective of this course is to introduce the students to some of the main problems and philosophical thoughts in the Enlightenment Thought.
20 Contribution of the Course to Professional Development
21 Learning Outcomes:
1 Student gains an understanding the general features of what is called Enlightenment Thought.;
2 Student gains an understanding the philosophical concerns that have given rise to the Enlightenment Thought.;
3 Philosophers, major movements, issues and philosophical systems in the Enlightenment thought are learned.;
4 Student gains an understanding the problematics and concepts central to the thinking of each Enlightenment philosopher.;
5 Ability in highly critical thinking skills is gained.;
6 Student gains ability to grasp and analyze central themes in the Enlightenment philosophies.;
7 Students extend as well as deepen the philosophical knowledge acquired in previous philosophy courses.;
8 Student gains ability to develop and examine arguments for and against the views defended by the Enlightenment philosophers.;
9 Students have a good grasp of the philosophical background of modern understandings of religion and God.;
10 The relationship between modern philosophy and religion and different perspectives on religion in the Enlightenment thought are learned.;
