19 | Objective of the Course: | The aim is to learn about historiography in the Middle Ages and the first historians who pioneered it, to conduct a comparative analysis of historiography along the Western and Eastern axes, and to gain knowledge about how the profession of historiography evolved through the stages during the Middle Ages. |
20 | Contribution of the Course to Professional Development | In this course, the understanding of history in the Middle Ages will be analyzed firstly through the question "What is history?" Following this basic approach, the works produced in this period will be investigated week by week. Historiography and the mission of historians will be discussed and criticized with current discussion topics. |
