Objective of the Course:
The aim of the course is to introduce you to the main concepts of the field known as Discourse Analysis and to raise awareness on the relationship between the field of Discourse Analysis and Language Teaching.

Contribution of the Course to Professional Development
In this course methods like lecturing, question-answer, discussion, analysis on different discourse types and activities of practicing and how to use them in language teaching are used to make student teachers be able to analyse coherence and cohesion in texts by investigating natural language use in their language skills and teaching practices; scrutinize the role of coherence and cohesion of texts in language teaching and its contribution; explain the relationship between discourse analysis and language teaching.
