19 Objective of the Course: It aims to teach students how to study short stories and novels in French literature and to use these literary texts as a resource to teach language. Another purpose is to develop their critical thinking and interpretation of the literary texts. It also aims to engage students interactively with the text, with fellow students and with the teacher in the performance of tasks involving literary texts. It aims to help them develop a principled approach to developing their own classroom materials.
20 Contribution of the Course to Professional Development Focusing on using literature (short story and novel) in French language teaching. Improving critical thinking and learning the elements of these genres. Being able to design activities based on the literary texts.
21 Learning Outcomes:
1 Learning to use literature in French language teaching;;
2 Improving advanced reading skills and interpretation of the literary texts and analyze them.;;
3 Improving reading and interpreting short stories and novels in French literatures and analyze them.;;
4 Learning various approaches to using literature in language teaching language teaching in every level.;;
5 Learning phrasal verbs, idioms, metaphors in the culture of French.;;
6 Learning customs, traditions, beliefs, taboos and superstitions as reflected in the stories and use them in language teaching;;
7 Learning the historical, cultural, political and economic background in the stories and use them in language teaching;;
8 Learning to interprete metaphorical expressions and humor in literary texts.;;
9 Using and improving critical thinking and point of view ;;
10 Improving ways of teaching culture through short stories and novels;;
