19 Objective of the Course: Training individuals to use reading skills the most effectively as a way of getting information and learning. Training individuals to comprehend what they read and generate new information from it in the course of education.
20 Contribution of the Course to Professional Development Theoretical clarification of reading comprehension. What should be done for reading activity to become widespread in society, and analysing techniques for teaching reading. Types of reading and choosing purpose-based reading type. Studies on fostering reading skill in Turkish instruction. Exemplifying ?Critical/Analytical Reading? on the basis of texts, critical reading sessions and practicising.
21 Learning Outcomes:
1 S/he can design activities to improve reading comprehension skills.;
2 S/he can apply various reading techniques appropriate to the text. ;
3 S/he can comprehend what should be considered in the process of reading and note taking.;
4 S/he can evaluate critical reading skills in different dimensions.;
5 S/he can transfer what they read to other environments with intertextuality approach.;
6 S/he can compare reading and other forms of learning.;
