19 Objective of the Course: The aim of this course is to introduce students to the philosophical and theoretical foundations of qualitative research and what to do in a qualitative research process. In this context, it is aimed that students experience the qualitative research process practically, analyze the data according to qualitative research standards, and report their work.
20 Contribution of the Course to Professional Development It is expected to contribute to research and practice.
21 Learning Outcomes:
1 Explain the basic features of qualitative and quantitative research methods.;
2 Compare the main features of the main patterns in the qualitative research method.;
3 Explain the basic data collection techniques in qualitative research method according to the basic features of the patterns.;
4 Collects qualitative data appropriate to a determined subject.;
5 Explains the data analysis technique suitable for the characteristics of the data obtained in qualitative research.;
6 Evaluate the appropriateness of reporting studies conducted with qualitative research method.;

3 Qualitative research processes and problem posing
4 Sample in qualitative research
5 Qualitative data collection techniques (interview, observation, document review, etc.)
6 Qualitative data analysis methods
7 Coding data, creating categories and themes
8 Computer-assisted qualitative data analysis (using Nvivo, MAXQDA)
9 The nature of qualitative data and the role of the researcher in qualitative research
10 Validity, reliability and ethical concepts in qualitative research
11 Interpretation of qualitative data and preparation of research report
12 Preparing and presenting research proposals for future thesis or other project work
