19 Objective of the Course: The aim of the course is to introduce the research area and the effect of space on the cognitive, social-emotional and physical development of children.
20 Contribution of the Course to Professional Development To have design knowledge to improve the quality of children's spaces
21 Learning Outcomes:
1 Understanding the research area on the relationship between children and space in terms of scope, methods and techniques;
2 Understanding the importance of child and space relationship on child development;
3 Understanding the dimensions that are important for providing conditions that support child development, in the context of urban and architectural environment.;
22 Course Content:

1 Child development (cognitive, psycho-social and physical development) and physical environment relationship (perception, experience and learning)
2 Child and physical environment relationship: Anthropometric dimensions and basic spatial standards
3 The child's cognitive, psycho-social and physical developmental needs and housing space
4 Research on the relationship between children and housing space: Student presentations
5 Cognitive, psycho-social and physical developmental needs of the child and preschool education space
6 Studies on the relationship between child and preschool education: Student presentations
7 Children's museums: possibilities of use and spatial requirements
8 Research on the relationship between children and museum spaces: Student presentations
9 Children's libraries: possibilities of use and spatial requirements
10 Studies on the relationship between children and library spaces: Student presentations
11 Children's hospitals / pediatric units: possibilities of use and spatial requirements
12 Studies on the relationship between child and hospital / treatment space: student presentations
13 Playgrounds: Possibilities of use and spatial requirements
14 Studies on the relationship between children and outdoor play spaces: student presentations
