19 | Objective of the Course: | The aims of this course are to introduce the concepts of cultural heritage and historical environment in the first years of undergraduate education of architecture students, to analyze the historical environment, to interpret and evaluate the results of the analysis. In addition, it is aimed to enable students to use the gains of research and understanding of the historical environment in their other courses. |
20 | Contribution of the Course to Professional Development | In architecture undergraduate education, architectural conservation and cultural heritage courses are included in the third year program. However, in architectural design courses, architecture students design in existing environments and often within the historical environment from the first year onwards. This course, which is a conceptual introduction to the field of cultural heritage and historic environment conservation, will enable architecture students to have a general idea about these issues and to use the methods of this course in their other courses. |
