19 Objective of the Course: The examination of Arabic dictionary works after the compilation (tadwen) period in terms of their authors, schools of thought, types, methods, sources, and other aspects.
20 Contribution of the Course to Professional Development Arabic lexicography provides an opportunity for introduction and information regarding dictionary studies, schools of thought, types, methods, historical development, as well as the possibility to evaluate and critique these studies and methods.
21 Learning Outcomes:
1 Gains knowledge about the general history of lexicography.;
2 Acquires knowledge about the terminology of Arabic lexicography.;
3 Gains knowledge about the history of Arabic lexicography.;
4 Learns about the different schools of thought in Arabic lexicography, their pioneers, and important sources.;
5 Examines representatives and important works of Arabic dictionary schools after the compilation period.;
6 Investigates studies on the followers of Arabic dictionary schools and works prepared in accordance with these schools.;
7 Evaluates and provides commentary on the methods of Arabic dictionary schools.;
8 Examines the reasons for the emergence of Arabic dictionary schools.;
9 Examines and evaluates Arabic dictionary studies conducted in the modern period.;
10 Gains knowledge about studies conducted for the purpose of introduction, examination, evaluation, and criticism in the field of Arabic lexicography.;
