19	Objective of the Course:	The aim of the course is to know the functions such as: the definition of human and culture, the emergence and the development of music with the cultural, social and philosophical dimensions, the concept of "music" and "culture" , individual and social effects of music, sound sources, the formation and characteristics of sound, the formation and development of instruments; the music genres in Turkey and in the world, the attitudes and behaviors that people who produce, perform and listen to music should show in the musical process; music compositions, forms and terms with scores; music institutions in Turkey; Turkish music culture, Ataturk and Turkish Music Revolution, the importance and functions of music education.
20	Contribution of the Course to Professional Development	To know the specific information in the field of music teaching profession and to develop the ability to use this information in professional life.

Learning Outcomes:

4	To know the formation-development and sounds of instruments.;
5	To know the terms for basic music knowledge.;

4	Basic music knowledge number of measures, ornaments in music, nuances, tones
5	A Brief History of Western Music via the playlist

8	Music forms, musical compositions and musical terms on score.
9	To have information about musical compositions (concerto, symphony etc.) and forms (sonata allegro, thema and variations, rondo, lied, etc) by listening to the samples of the pieces.

Measurement and Evaluation Techniques Used in the Course	Students are evaluated with a midterm exam consisting of open-ended questions and a final exam consisting of multiple-choice questions. Mid-term exam questions cover the topics covered until the relevant date, and the final exam covers all semester subjects.
