19 Objective of the Course: The aim is to briefly touch upon the historical process of pre-school education in both western and Islamic education, and to introduce pedagogues and thinkers who express their views on this issue. In addition, it is aimed to introduce the approaches related to early childhood education from past to present.
20 Contribution of the Course to Professional Development Being aware of both the history and approaches of pre-school education by reading this course will enable individuals who will take part in early childhood education at various levels to determine the place of the education they have/will do in practice in the current practices in the world. They will also acquire knowledge and skills in putting forward original practices suitable for our own culture and civilization.
21 Learning Outcomes:
1 Knows the history of preschool education in the West. ;
2 Knows the history of preschool education in the history of Islamic education.;
3 Compare and discuss the development of preschool education in Western and Islamic education.;
4 Knows the current early childhood education approaches in the world.;
5 Discusses the applicability of current preschool approaches in the world in Turkiye.;
6 Identifies and discusses how preschool education is practiced in Turkiye.;
7 Knows and discusses the pedagogical foundations for the implementation of moral and values education in preschool.;
8 Gains the ability to create a preschool approach appropriate to our own culture and civilization.;
9 Realizes that children growing up in different cultures can be brought closer to each other in terms of sociocultural aspects through preschool education.;
10 Adopts a positive attitude towards innovations, different ideas and practices in preschool education.;
