19 Objective of the Course: The aim of this course is for students to plan, implement and evaluate movement, physical education and sports activities in accordance with the preschool education program.
20 Contribution of the Course to Professional Development Motor development and characteristics of children in early childhood; development of movement skills and physical abilities; the relationship between play and movement; movement development according to ages, planning educational environments for movement development; Planning, implementation and evaluation of action activities in accordance with pre-school education program.
21 Learning Outcomes:
1 Students explain the motor development and characteristics of children;
2 Students explain the relationship between play and movement;
3 Students plan physical education and sports activities in accordance with the preschool education program;
4 Students apply physical education and sports activities in accordance with the preschool education program.;
5 Students evaluate physical education and activities suitable for pre-school education program;
22 Course Content:
Week Theoretical Practical
1 Meeting, sharing the course content, expectations about the course and explaining the responsibilities.
2 Developmental effects of basic movement education in children.
3 The aims of physical education studies in preschool period and their contribution to child development. Issues to be considered in physical education applications.
4 Definition of motor development, basic concepts related to motor development.
5 Motor development areas and factors affecting motor development.
6 Lifelong movement development theory (Hourglass Model). Growth and motor development characteristics between 0-6 years.
7 Examination of motor development items of developmental tests and Sherborne Movement Development Program.
8 Examination of motor development field gains and indicators in preschool education program, preschool physical education program.
9 Physical development characteristics in early childhood. The scope of movement training envisaged for the development of these characteristics.
10 Methods used in teaching of physical education and play.
11 Implementation of physical education plans developed by students in kindergartens, observing by the instructor and giving verbal feedback.
12 Tools and equipment that will improve the movement skills of children in preschool period. Activities used to prepare movement education in pre-school period.
13 Planning movement activities in accordance with the preschool education program.
14 Planning movement activities in accordance with the preschool education program
