19 Objective of the Course: The main purpose of this course is to provide students with a conceptual basis for the basic features and various methods of qualitative research; to ensure that they have knowledge and skills about major qualitative research designs; to enable them to comprehend data analysis in qualitative research; to introduce the use of qualitative research in educational science research with applications.
20 Contribution of the Course to Professional Development At the end of this course, students will have enough knowledge to complete the study by designing a study in accordance with qualitative research methods, choosing an appropriate study group and considering ethical rules.
21 Learning Outcomes:
1 To be able to know the basics of qualitative research, terms and concepts frequently used in qualitative research; to recognize qualitative research patterns, methods and techniques;
2 To be able to learn observation, interview and document analysis from data collection techniques in qualitative research ;
3 To be able to do content analysis and ethnographic analysis, which are among the data analysis processes;
4 To be able to examine a problem that may be the subject of a qualitative research and to select and design the appropriate research type, pattern, method and techniques.;
5 Ability to select and design research patterns, methods and techniques suitable for a problem that may be subject to qualitative research;
6 To be able to define validity, reliability and ethical issues in qualitative research;

Measurement and Evaluation Techniques Used in the Course Homework and exam
Information Students will do a homework to make presentations on related topics and to examine and criticize a qualitative research. They will also take a classic exam consisting of open-ended questions.
