19 Objective of the Course: The purpose of this course is to enable prospective teachers to understand the objectives and contents of contemporary history education, to critically understand the current problems of history education, to deeply comprehend concepts of fact, concept and generalization, to conceive the importance and dimensions of conceptual teaching, to understand the ways of identifying and resolving the misconceptions, to explain the methods that can be used in conceptual teaching, to develop a material to be used in conceptual teaching, and to review the relevant literature.

21 Learning Outcomes:
1 Describes the importance of history education and its curriculum features;
2 Gain awareness of the problems of history education and the suggested solutions;
3 Defines case, concept and generalization, establishes a chain between them;
4 Explains structure and properties of concept;
5 Concept teaching strategies, methods and techniques;
6 Explain the main problems and limitations in conceptual teaching;
7 Explain concept misconceptions and their remedies;
8 Design and develop a material that can be used in conceptual teaching;
9 Plans and runs sample lessons for concept teaching;
10 Analyze and evaluate academic literature in conceptual teaching;
