19 Objective of the Course: This course looks into the birth and development of Protestant Christianity, the theopolitical nature of Christian theology in the context of Church-political relations in Europe, the situation of the Catholic church in this process, the 'heretic' movements against the Church, the influence and traces of Protestant Christianity in the Western understanding of religion. It provides and understanding of the place of evangelical theology and theopolitics in the geopolitics of religions today by giving information about the transatlantic 'great awakening' in the 19th century and the current Protestant movements from the emergence of American evangelical theopolitics in the 19th century to Christian Zionism today.
20 Contribution of the Course to Professional Development The course provides a scientific understanding and perspective on the beliefs and understandings of Protestant Christian theopolitics about Judaism, Israel and Muslims. It provides the ability to make objective socio-psychological inferences about the relationship between theology and theopolitics in the History of Religions, and supports the student to reach the necessary and sufficient level in academic research.
21 Learning Outcomes:
1 Students will become acquainted with various aspects of the relationship between theology and theopolitics in the history of religions.;
2 Students will learn basic knowledge of key figures, events, movements, and intellectual thought central to Protestant evangelical theopolitics.;
3 Students will learn about the theological doctrines of Protestant Evangelical movements and their influence on Christian theopolitics.;
4 Students examine and comprehend the beliefs and understandings of Protestant Christian theopolitics about Judaism, Israel and Muslims.;
5 Students will be able to develop skills in reading and thinking critically, working with a variety of primary and secondary materials, writing with clarity and purpose, and discussing and debating in a respectful and rigorous manner.;
