19 Objective of the Course: To ensure that Turkish teacher candidates have information about the purpose of Turkish education and new learning and teaching approaches applied in Turkish education.
20 Contribution of the Course to Professional Development This course helps prospective teachers to learn the meaning of Turkish learning and teaching, the purpose and basic principles of Turkish teaching, the history of Turkish teaching, the reflection of learning and teaching approaches to Turkish teaching, basic skills in teaching Turkish, current trends and problems in teaching Turkish, and the components of an effective Turkish teaching. In addition, this course helps students to develop their social, cultural and economic perspectives on teaching Turkish and to recognize in-class practice examples.

Information In this course, student teachers are evaluated by means of written exams and demonstrations of language teaching methods and approaches in collaborative groups. All evaluation practices in the course intend to foster the development of critical and reflective thinking skills as part of 21st century learning.
