Objective of the Course:
To inform prospective teachers about the characteristics of Young Learners (YLs), provide a theoretical basis for methods and approaches regarding teaching English to YLs, and transfer prospective teachers’ theoretical knowledge into practice with variety of in-class activities.

Contribution of the Course to Professional Development
The course that requires the use of right approaches and techniques, development of activities and materials, planning of lessons according to the age and developmental features of children, and conducting assessment appropriate for child learners, focuses on the growth of theoretical background and skills thus prepares teacher trainees to the classroom, helps them gain awareness and have correct expectations. Therefore, it has great importance for professional development.
