19 Objective of the Course: o have knowledge at a sufficient level about the political and social structure of periods of Four Caliphs, Umayyad and Andalusia Umayyad and to give a perspective that could evaluate the cause and effects of the events occurred in those periods and to provide information to be used in contemporary issues.

21 Learning Outcomes:
1 The history of caliphate with its outlines from the beginning with the concepts caliph and caliphate.;;
2 To realize the atmosphere occurred in the Islamic world after the death of the Prophet;;
3 To analyze new developments came out after the period of the Prophet;;
4 To compare the applications of each of the Four Caliphs and to take sample different practises about various issues;;
5 To compare the periods of Caliphate and Dynasty;;
6 To explain the reasons of emergence of different views and sects in the History of Islam. ;;
7 To explain and interpret the various aspects of the periods of Four Caliphs, The Umayyad and Andalusia Umayyad.;;
8 To establish similarities between some events occurring today and some events happened in the periods of Four Caliphs, The Umayyad and Andalusia Umayyad.;;
9 To recognize classical and modern sources about the periods of Four Caliphs, The Umayyad and Andalusia Umayyad.;;
10 o criticise the contemporary approaches in scientific ways about the periods of Four Caliphs, The Umayyad and Andalusia Umayyad.;;
22 Course Content:
Week Theoretical Practical
1 The history of caliphate with its outlines from the beginning with the concepts caliph and caliphate.
2 Choosing Hz Abu Bakr caliph, sending the army of Usame, the reasons of ridde and insurgency and the suppression of them.
3 The beginning of the voyages to the lands where Arabs connected to Eastern Romans and Sassanies lived.
4 The beginning of the voyages to the lands where Arabs connected to Eastern Romans and Sassanies lived.
5 The conquering movements to the direction of Syria, Jazeera and the Egyptian in the period of Hz Omar.
6 Hz Omar period, government administration and management
7 Formating shura and choosing Uthman caliph
8 Conquests in the period of Hz Uthman (the beginning of İfrikiye conquest, the conquest of Cyprus and completing the conquest of Khorasan)
9 The performances of Hz. Uthman, the spots he was criticised and incidents of mischief.
10 Choosing Hz Ali caliph and internal confusions: The Wars of Cemel and Sıffin.
11 Event refree, the Kharijites and the martyrdom of Hz Ali.
12 Conversion of Caliphate to reign and establishment of Umayyad.
13 Movements of conquest, internal confusions in the period of Umayyad and the fall of the Umayyad.
14 Establishment and fragmentation of Andalusia Umayyad State and complete removelş of muslims from Andalusia.
