19 Objective of the Course: The objective of the course is that students know trends in education and curriculum.
20 Contribution of the Course to Professional Development This course will enable students to comprehend the direction of development in education.

1 explain the basic features of the traditional understanding of curriculum development;
2 explain the views of Dewey and Tyler;
3 know the new approaches to curriculum development;
4 explain the basic views of contemporary theorists of curriculum development;
5 know the curriculum development approaches and the latest developments in the U.S. and EU countries;
6 explain the curriculum development activities at central and local level;
7 explain the concept of hidden curriculum ;
8 explain the program development system in Turkey ;
9 evaluate the recent developments in curriculum development in Turkey ;
10 evaluate future trends in curriculum development;
