19 Objective of the Course: After graduation, the student who will work in institutions and organizations belonging to the public or private sector as a graduate of the Ceramic Glass and Tile Program, in line with the professional education received; The aim of the course is to give the distinctive basic features of the works belonging to different societies, cultures and civilizations that have produced and used tiles, ceramics and glass from the historical process to the present, and to introduce their form, function, technique and decoration features.
20 Contribution of the Course to Professional Development To dominate the developments in the field of tiles and ceramics in different cultures and geographies since the early ages.
21 Learning Outcomes:
1 Gains knowledge of the development of tile and ceramic art in Anatolia. ;
2 Gains knowledge of the development of glass art in Anatolia.;
3 Explain the relationship between tile, ceramic and glass arts and other branches of art.;
22 Course Content:
Week Theoretical Practical
1 With its main titles, the stages of general civilization and art history. Explanation of basic concepts and terms.
2 Early examples of ceramics in terms of basic properties affect function, form and pattern formation. The geographical spread of China.
3 Early Turkish Tile Art (Proto Turk, Hun and Göktürk Periods). Chinese influences.
4 The place and importance of tiles in early Islamic art. Function, form and decorative features.
5 Tile and ceramic art centers in Seljuk State, function, form and decoration features of tile products.
6 Ilhanlı period and the basic features of Iranian tile art, tile production centers; function, form and decoration features.
7 General Review and Midterm Exam
8 Tile production centers in Anatolia in the Principalities and Early Ottoman Periods, the main features of the tile products of the period.
9 Factors affecting the development of Classical and Late Ottoman Tile Art, tile production centers and the function, form, technique and decoration features of the produced tiles.
10 The development of ceramic art in Anatolia before the Ottoman Period.
11 Study of Greek and Roman Ceramic Art
12 Developments in Ceramic Art in the Ottoman Period
13 The Birth of Glass Art and Developments in Glass Art in the World in the Period Until the Ottoman Period
14 Examination of Ottoman Period Glass Art
