19	Objective of the Course:	The main aim of the course is to determine the varied meanings of culture conception according to different disciplines, explaining the factors involving cultural changes through historical examples in the context of institutions forming cultural values.
20	Contribution of the Course to Professional Development

Learning Outcomes:

1	The student is able to conceive comprehensiveness of culture conception by means of historical samples.;
2	The student is able to comprehend the base units consisting the culture and how and why the cultures change;
3	He/She is able to evaluate the reasons for cultural differences amongst societies.;
4	He/She is able to compare societies possessing different historical backgrounds in terms of cultural diversities. ;
5	He/She is able to apprehend politic, economic and social processes which influence in consisting of cultures and civilizations along history. ;
6	He/She is able to interpret the impacts of cultural values on worldview and the thinking way.;
7	He/She is able to express similarities of cultures accepted as member of the same civilization. ;
8	He/She is able to detect evolution phases of national culture and its place in universal civilization.;
9	He/She is able to determine the change periods of national cultures and the factors causing the cultural changes. ;
10	He/She is able to explain the causes of sub-cultures revealing in society where he/she lives. ;

1	Defining of history and culture conceptions. The main characteristics of culture.
2	Evolution phases of cultural history.
3	Prehistoric cultures.
4	General characteristics of Medieval, Pre-modern and Modern cultures.
5	The language as a unit of culture. The historical evolution of Turkish Language.
6	Historical development of script. The alphabets Turks used along history.
7	Historical conditions exposing Ottoman Turkish Language and Turk Language Reform.
8	Midterm and review of subjects.
9	Oral and written culture in the context of relation between language and script.
10	Exemplifying the reasons of cultural diversities with the historical cases.
11	Art as a unit of culture.
12	Urban settlement and the evolution of urban development in Turkish history.
13	Contributions of pious foundation to economic and cultural life.
14	General assessment and feedbacks.
