19 Objective of the Course: The aim of this course is to make students familiarize with the technical and educational features of film media as a up to date course material, to understand its importance in foreign language teaching and learning processes, to integrate them into the lesson to develop the target audience’s various skills (receptive, communicative/productive and cognitive language skills) and to deliver cultural knowledge.

21 Learning Outcomes:
1 To be able to recognize the relevance of film material in foreign language teaching and learning processes.;
2 To be able know the film types that can be used for teaching Turkish as a foreign language, to be able to plan and use them.;
3 To be able to plan and practice in-class film activities for the development of learners’ receptive skills.;
4 To be able to plan and practice in-class film activities for the development of learners’ communicative and productive language skills.;
5 To be able to plan and practice in-class film activities for the development of learners’ cognitive language skills.;
6 To be able to choose suitable film material to introduce Turkish culture and use it in the lesson.;
7 To be able to plan and apply in-class film activities to support cross-cultural interactions.;
8 To be able to plan and practice in-class film activities to development learners’ media esthetics skills.;

2 Definition and properties of film material and advantages of using in foreign language education process.
3 Historical development of film as a material in foreign language learning process.
4 Film types that can be used as course material in the foreign language learning process.
5 Film screening methods in foreign language teaching process.
6 Stages of film activities in foreign language teaching process.
7 Activities to develop vocabulary with film material.
8 In class activities to develop watching/ listening comprehension with film material.
9 In class activities to develop speaking skill with film material.
10 In class activities to develop writing skill with film material.
11 Using film material to providing to deliver cultural information.
12 Media esthetics of film material.
13 The use of instructional film material in foreign language teaching process.
14 Evaluation of the semester.
