General Description
Seeding Program was established in 2000-2001 academic year.
This program is a 2-year associate degree with 120 ECTS credits in the field of seed growing. When program is successfully completed and all degree qualifications are met, students shall earn the title of Agricultural Technician (associate degree) in the area.

Specific Admission Requirements
Candidates must have a higher school diploma or an equivalent school diploma and have had enough points in YGS-6 (Passage to Higher Education Exam) exam results provided by ÖSYM which is the student selection and placement center in TURKEY.

Specific arrangements for the recognition of prior learning
The provisions in “Regulation on Transfer among Associate and Undergraduate Degree Programs, Double Major, and Subspecialty and the Principals of Credit Transfer among Institutions in Higher Education Institutions” are applied.

Qualification Requirements and Regulations
In order to get pre-Bsc degree at Seeding Program, the total of compulsory and elective hours of the lessons must be the equivalent of 120 ECTS and fully succeeded . The cumulative grade point average must be at least 2.0 out 4.00.

Profile of The Programme
The main purpose of the of Seeding Program is to train highly qualified agricultural technicians with sufficient cultural knowledge and communicational skills, in order to continue production and marketing of efficient and certified field and garden crops seeds, efficiently in an research and development laboratory environment.

Occupational Profiles of Graduates With Examples
1. Public Sector: Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Animal Husbandry, and Provincial and District Offices, Research Institutes, Municipalities.
2. Agricultural Cooperatives; such as, Agricultural Credit Cooperatives, Agricultural Marketing Cooperatives, Agricultural Development Cooperatives.
3. Seed production companies in private sector.
4. Self owned private establishments.

Access to Further Studies
May apply to bachelor´s programs in related fields of study, and gain the title of Agricultural Engineer, provided that the student obtains sufficient score in the Vertical Transfer Examination(DGS) administered by the Student Selection Centre, or may apply to bachelor´s degree completion programs in related fields of study in Distance Education System.

Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading
Students are required to attend classes, practice sessions and examinations. Minimum required attendance is 70 percent for classes and 80 percent for practice sessions. A student who does not fulfill the requirement for attendance is not allowed to take the final examination for the semester concerned. A student in such status is to repeat the course. At least one midterm examination and a final examination are given each semester. Exams are evaluated over 100 points, and midterm contribute %40 and final exam contribute 60% to the final grade of students with the requirement of taking minimum 50 points on the final exam. Students are graded passing letter grades of AA, BA, BB, CB and CC when the requirements are achieved, for those who are granted conditional passing grades of DC and DD, are required to have a minimum GPA of 2.0 in order to graduate.

Graduation Requirements
Students which have a minimum cumulative academic degree 2.0 can be graduated if they success the 120 ECTS credit of learning program in total and complete their practical training (internship.)
