Brief History
Department of Archeology was established in 2005 in Bursa Uludağ University. Undergraduate, master and PhD. educations are still active in our department. 3 professor, 2 associate professor, 1 lecturer and 6 research assistants are working in our department. In the University our department assumes 2 research centers management. These are Mosaic Research Center AIEMA-TURKEY and The Research center of Archaeology.
Master education has been started in 2008. Besides the environmental archaeology (Bithynia ve Mysia), basic classical archaeology, some lessons about underwater archaeology and ancient mosaics are given.

Specific Admission Requirements
1- Bachelor degree in archaeology 2- Sufficient score equivalent (at least 55 out of 100 and it must have been taken last 3 years) from the Academic Staff and Graduate Study Education Exam (ALES). It is valid international certificates like GRE, GMAT etc. for foreign students and it is not demanded any score from ALES). 3-Sufficient foreign language score - not required. It is demanded TÖMER certificate which proves their language skills for foreign students (except the students who graduated in Turkey ). 50% of ALES + 20% of academic success in the undergraduate programme + 30% of interview grade: The candidates are ranged according to their total score after the evaluation and they are accepted according to starting with the highest score. Specific arrangements for the recognition of prior learning
The provisions in “Regulation on Transfer among Associate and Undergraduate Degree Programs, Double Major, and Subspecialty and the Principals of Credit Transfer among Institutions in Higher Education Institutions” are applied.

Qualification Requirements and Regulations
Students should have to take min. 90 ETCS credit. Students should take courses minimum 21 maximum 28 credits. Students should succeed from all the courses. Students should get 70 over 100. Students should defend their thesis in front of the jury. Master of arts degree in Archaeology will be granted to the successful students.

Master program focuses on environmental archaeology, classical archaeology, underwater archaeology and ancient mosaics.

Occupational Profiles of Graduates With Examples
The students who complete the master education successfully may continue PhD education in the universities, archaeologists in the state or private museums, in the local municipals or in the Ministry of Culture.

Access to Further Studies
The graduates who are proficient in ALES and foreign language exams and who hold master´s Degree are eligible to apply to phd programs at national level and /or international level both in the same and in related disciplines.

Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading
In Master Program, each student has to enrol in the school and since he sits for a final examination, he has to attend at least % 70 of the courses and %80 of the practice. Examination is evaluated on the basis of 100. Students general grade point average has to be at least 70 for to be successful from Master Program. Students, who get one of AA, BA, BB, CB, or CC letter marks, are to be succeeding at the available courses.

Graduation Requirements
Students should succeed in all the courses in programme (equivalent to 90-120 ECTS) and should complete their thesis successfully to finish the programme successfully.
