Master programme in Econometrics main science branch got started within Social Sciences Institution in 1983.

Qualification Awarded
Master programme in Econometrics main science branch is subject to 90-120 credits second stage system. After the program is completed successfully and programs qualifications are met, second cycle degree is achieved.

Specific Admission Requirements
1-Bachelors diploma 2-Having required scores from the postgraduate entrance exam (ALES). The validity period of this document is 3 years, the sort of score is equal-weighted and it must be minimum 55 point. ALES document and internationally validated documents such as GRE and GMAT are also valid for foreign nationals, in spite of that score condition is not required. 3- Having required foreign language exam scores ( Minimum 50 points for UÜDS, KPDS, ÜDS, minimum 50 point for TOEFL IBT, minimum 130 point for TOEFL CBT, minimum 450 point for TOEFL PBT and equivalent exams required. Tömer document which proves that the person knows Turkish is required for foreign nationals (except students who are educated in Turkey). %50 ALES + %15 bachelor degree + %15 Foreign Language score +%20 interviewing =Weighted Total point Candidates are sorted depending on their weighted total points and starting with the highest point students are accepted according to contingent. Specific arrangements for the recognition of prior learning
The provisions in “Regulation on Transfer among Associate and Undergraduate Degree Programs, Double Major, and Subspecialty and the Principals of Credit Transfer among Institutions in Higher Education Institutions” are applied.

Qualification Requirements and Regulations
Students who have attended minimum 21 an maximum 28 credit courses and have finished them all 70 points out of 100 and have defended his/her thesis successfully in the field of his/her branch are awarded with second cycle diploma.

Profile of The Programme
It is aimed to improve the basic knowledge of econometrics, statistics and operations research science branches that is taken in the Bachelors level to more advance level. Thus, econometrician, statistician and operation researchers that can use advance level techniques are educated. In schedule, advance level courses of econometrics, statistics and operations research science branches are existed. Students are up skilled to write scientific dissertation. Also, knowledge that can devise projects in solving public and private sectors are presented to the students.

Key Learning Outcomes
1. Being able to improve the basic knowledge acquired in the fields of econometrics, statistics and operations research to the expertise level and to comprehend interdisciplinary interaction.
2. Being able to evaluate and use the advanced level knowledge on econometrics, statistics and operations research, economics, public finance, law, management, and accounting that are required in experts and researchers who are much needed by the public and private sectors.
3. Being able to analyze and resolve the problems encountered in the fields of econometrics, statistics and operations research by combining the field knowledge with those obtained from other disciplines and to evaluate the findings of such analyses.
4. Being able to plan, independently carry out and publish studies related to the fields of econometrics, statistics and operations research.
5. Being able to develop new strategic approaches and generate solutions by taking on responsibility in the practices of fields of statistics, econometrics and operations research.
6. Being able to make the critical analysis, synthesis and the evaluation of new and complicated ideas in the fields of econometrics, statistics and operations research.
7. Being able to present current developments and own studies concerning the fields of econometrics, statistics and operations research in oral, written and visual forms to those groups within and outside the econometrics, statistics and operations research world.
8. Being able to use the information and communication technologies at an advanced level together with different software as required by the fields of statistics, econometrics and operations research.
9. Being able to speak a foreign language and keep up with a foreign literature in the fields of econometrics, statistics and operations research.
10. By paying regard to social, scientific and ethical values, being able to instruct and supervise these values in studies related to the fields of econometrics, statistics and operations research.

Occupational Profiles of Graduates With Examples
Job opportunities are available in both public and private sectors. In public sector it can be worked at some institutions such as state planning organization and Turkish statistical institute and in private sector it can be worked at some institutuions such as research firms, finance, banking and insurance.

Access to Further Studies
Graduates, who have successfully completed graduate degree, can be in the educated in the second cycle programmes under the condition that they completed their applications and succeeded interviewing.

Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading
In order for each student to be able to register for the courses at the beginning of the term and to take the final examination, she/he has to attend at least 70% of the classes. Students are made to take at least one final examination for each of the courses. All exams are evaluated over 100 point. To be successful in the final exam it is obliged that minimum 70 points should be taken. Students that have AA, BA, BB, CB and CC final grades for any course are thought to be succeeded .

Graduation Requirements
In order to complete the program successfully it is required to pass all the courses in the program (equivalent to total 90-120 AKTS) and complete the thesis with success.

Facilities
Education language is Turkish. Courses are taught at clasrooms that have projections and smart boards.
In the department, at present there are 12 full professor, 1 associate professor, 2 assistant professor, 3 research assistants on duty.
