General Description
Horticulture Department being the first founded department in Agricultural Faculty at Uludag University in 1981, started to offer graduate education after 1983, and since then the department teaches and trains students towards to Master´s Degree in the Field of Horticulture. Major field of fruit, vegetable, viticulture, floriculture growing and breeding are offered in the Horticulture Department. This mission forms the basis of the original elements of the graduate program. In this context, issues of high competitive world technology are adapted to adapt to changes.
Horticulture Department possesses vineyard, orchard, vegetable field, glass and plastic greenhouses, cold storage and packing facilities. In addition, tissue culture, physiology, molecular biology, cytology, or postharvest physiology laboratories are used for scientific research.
Master of Science in Horticulture program is subjected to 90-120 ECTS credits in higher education. In Master Program without thesis, it is required to 120 ECTS. The Master´s Degree in Horticulture program is awarded to the graduates who have successfully completed all courses in the curriculum.

Specific Admission Requirements
Science degree in Bachelor and ALES (numeric) score which is determined by the Senate of Uludag University is required. Students must have minimum score determined by Senate in UDS, TOEFL, TOEFL or equivalent examinations accepted by YÖK, or foreign language exam which is conducted by the School of Foreign Languages in one of foreign languages in English, German, French, Italian, Russian, Arabic. UU Senate decides the Equivalence of other foreign language documents. For foreign candidates, Tomer candidates Turkish competency given by TOMER and ALES exam results or GRE, GMAT and other exams which are by YOK in international level.

Specific arrangements for the recognition of prior learning
The provisions in “Regulation on Transfer among Associate and Undergraduate Degree Programs, Double Major, and Subspecialty and the Principals of Credit Transfer among Institutions in Higher Education Institutions” are applied.

Qualification Requirements and Regulations
The graduate program students throughout their education a total of 21-24 credits courses (90-120 ECTS), two seminars and thesis work must succeed. The students of Horticulture Program who meet the relevant requirements are awarded an MS degree. The course concerned in this note is to be successful, must be at least 70 out of 100.

Profile of The Programme
To carry out researches in the area of growing fruits, vegetables, grapes, and ornamental plants growing and breeding, and provide qualified education to individuals who may have sufficient experience in this context, create contemporary solutions to problems, leadership structure and serve at international standard.
Two seminars are required in curriculum, one is at the end of courses and the other is at the end of a thesis plan in the Department of Horticulture. Subject of the thesis is determined by the Department Academic Council after successful completion of courses and the first seminar approved. The thesis must be successfully defended in front of a jury selected. Curriculum plan of the Horticulture Department ensures students to be specialized in the field and to get Master of Science degree.

Graduation Requirements
Students must successfully pass all compulsory and elective courses on the program and who have successfully completed all courses in the curriculum will be given The Master´s Degree in Horticulture Program.
