Profile of The Programme
The objectives of the Department of Industrial Engineering are, providing world-class knowledge and education, contributing to the community by its efforts in research, manufacturing and service sectors, showing continuous self-improvement in education and service areas and being considered as a model department.
Industrial Engineering Bachelors Program, other than the basic courses under the title of Industrial Engineering, consists of elective courses in social studies and engineering. The program consists of a total of 249 ECTS credits. 70% of these courses are lectured in Turkish and 30% in English. 25 % of the all the courses are elective and the rest are mandatory. Within the elective courses 9.5% are social elective, 9.5% are technical electives, 39% are professional electives in Turkish, 19% are professional electives in English, 14% are informatics electives in English, and 9% are summer practice courses.
Students are required to do an internship in three different contexts. Integrated System Design project is mandatory in the last two semesters preceding graduation. The Integrated System Design project is performed with real-life projects from both public and private sector companies. It consists of 3 presentations and a thesis that is defended against a jury.
Successful students who meet the conditions specified in the Minor and Dual Degree Program Guidelines receive an Undergraduate Minor license certificate or a Dual Degree Diploma in their area of interest.
Also education in universities abroad, which can be contracted through Erasmus, is available.
