General Description
From 1998-1999 academic year to 2013-2014 academic year, The Uludag University Institute of Educational Sciences, Primary Education Department Graduate Program was united until Elementary Education, Mathematics, Science and Social Sciences programs opened separate master´s programs and no students have been accepted after the 2017-2018 academic year. In the 2018-2019 academic year, The Uludag University, Institute of Educational Sciences, Department of Basic Education, was reopened as a Preschool Education Master´s Program and currently continues to accept students. Preschool Education Department offers education and training services with 1 professor, 3 associate professors, 2 assistant professors, 1 lecture, 3 research assistants and 1 project assistant.
When the program is completed successfully and the program qualifications are met, a Master´s degree in Preschool Education is awarded.

Specific Admission Requirements
To have a bachelor´s degree from the fields specified in the call; To have the score specified in the call from the Academic Personnel and Graduate Education Entrance Exam (ALES); To provide the foreign language proficiency requirement specified in the call.

Specific arrangements for the recognition of prior learning
The provisions in “Regulation on Transfer among Associate and Undergraduate Degree Programs, Double Major, and Subspecialty and the Principals of Credit Transfer among Institutions in Higher Education Institutions” are applied.

Qualification Requirements and Regulations
Students, who have taken at least 24 credits (equivalent to 120 ECTS) from the courses in the graduate programs of Preschool Education or other related disciplines, who have completed all of them, who have a weighted average of at least 70 out of 100, who have successfully defended their master thesis in front of a jury, will be awarded a Master´s degree.

Profile of The Programme
The aim of this program is to train experts who have the knowledge, skills and attitudes relevant to the field of preschool education, follow the developments in their profession, know scientific research methods and techniques at a level to conduct scientific research, think critically, have high self-confidence and have the qualifications to follow the innovations related to their field on a national and international scale.
Goals
1. To become a well-equipped branch of science that provides master´s education in the field of preschool education, conducts research, ensures and improves physical and academic continuity.
2. To create a research environment that produces solutions to education and training problems in the field of preschool education by using quantitative and qualitative scientific research methods effectively, designs, develops and implements programs.
3. To become a branch of science that produces solutions and develops programs inspired by new approaches for current problems or unforeseen complex situations that arise during the applications in preschool education.

Has knowledge of different subjects/disciplines within the scope of preschool education, can develop the theoretical and practical knowledge acquired at the level of expertise and can produce new knowledge by combining them with those in different fields including the general knowledge/culture fields.

Can conduct research, practice, produce solutions, work independently, and take responsibility by using quantitative and/or qualitative scientific research methods regarding problems that require expertise in the field of preschool education.

Access to Further Studies
Those who have successfully completed the Master´s Program can continue their education in doctoral programs if they meet the stipulated conditions of the Preschool Education Doctorate Programs or close programs at the institutes affiliated to the universities.

Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading
Each student is required to register for the courses at the beginning of the semester and to have attended 70% in theoretical courses and 80% in applied courses in order to enter the final exam. Students who do not meet this requirement are not taken to the exam and the grade D is given to the student. Students are subjected to a final exam for each course. All exams are evaluated over 100 points. It is compulsory to get at least 70 points from the final exam. Students who get AA, BA, BB, CB and CC (70) letter grades from a course are considered to have successfully completed that course.

Graduation Requirements
In order to successfully complete the program, it is necessary to achieve all the courses in the program (equivalent to 120 ECTS) by achieving a grade point average of at least 2.00 out of 4.00, and successfully defend a master´s thesis and get it accepted.

Education and training activities in the Preschool Education Department are carried out in technically equipped classrooms. Computers and printers provided for the use of Preschool Education Department professors and assistants are used for educational services and academic activities. There are also computers for student use. Our university´s central library is rich in periodicals and online databases. Uludağ University Central Library and Education Faculty Library are actively used by our students.
