Laboratory and Veterinary Health
General Description
Laboratory Assistant and Veterinary Health program was opened in KMYO in 2011-2012 education year.
Laborant and Veterinary Health program consists of two years of pre-Bsc and 120 hours of ECTS (European Credit Transfer System). When the program is successfully completed and the program requirements are met, students can obtain a pre-Bsc degree .

Specific Admission Requirements
Candidates must have a higher school diploma or an equivalent school diploma and have enough points in entrance to Univercity Selection Exam.

Specific arrangements for the recognition of prior learning
The provisions in “Regulation on Transfer among Associate and Undergraduate Degree Programs, Double Major, and Subspecialty and the Principals of Credit Transfer among Institutions in Higher Education Institutions” are applied.

Qualification Requirements and Regulations
In order to get pre-Bsc degree at Laboratory Assistant and Veterinary Health Program, the total of compulsory and elective hours of the lessons must be the equivalent of 120 ECTS and fully succeeded . The cumulative grade point average must be at least 2.0 out 4.00.

Profile of The Programme
The aim of Laborant and Veterinary Health Program is to raise labor power who will have theoretical and practical knowledge in the area of Animal Health and Laboratory. These graduated students will also be able to work under the title of Laborant and Veterinary health Technician in Laboratories and Livestock industry.

Occupational Profiles of Graduates With Examples
Graduate students can be employed as Veterinary and Laboratory Assistant ; in Livestock Farms , Animal Hospitals, Veterinary Special Clinics , General Directorate of Agriculture Enterprise, Agriculture Ministry of Province and County, Feed factories, Veterinary Laboratories , Zoo, Veterinary Drug Company, Veterinary Health and Care Product Company .

Access to Further Studies
Graduate students ,having successfully completed their pre-Bsc degree, can pass directly to a Bsc degree program in department of Veterinary Faculty in condition that they get enough points at DGS (Vertical Passage Exam) organised by OSYM (Student Selection and Placement Center).

Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading
Each student must attend at least 70% of the lessons and at least 80% of the practices in order to enroll in the classes at the beginning of the term and to enter the final exam. Students are subjected to at least one midterm and final exam for each course. The contribution of the midterm exam (the scores obtained from the measurement tools such as homework, laboratory exam, quiz etc. as midterm grade can also be taken into consideration) to the success grade is 40%, and the contribution of the final exam is 60%. in the form. All exams are evaluated over 100 points. There is a requirement to get at least 50 points from the final exam. Students who get AA, BA, BB, CB and CC letter grades from a course are considered successful in that course. DC and DD grades are conditionally successful grades. In order for a student to be successful in a course in which he / she received DC or DD grade, his / her general weighted grade point average must be at least 2.0.

Graduation Requirements
In order to complete a program successfully, students must pass all the courses included in the program with 120 AKTS , which is equal to ,at least, an accumulative grade point average of 2.0 out of 4.00
