19 Objective of the Course: This subject aims to have large amount of information about family which is the bacis unit of society, especially marriage and divorce in Islamic family law system.

21 Learning Outcomes:
1 To have general information about the institutions of family and marriage.;
2 To know the family law rules which Turks had throughout history.;
3 To understand the principals, impediments, terms and conditions of marriage in Islamic family law;
4 To have information about Ottoman family law practices.;
5 To be able to compare Islamic family law with current ones.;

9 The end of marriage in Islamic law system
10 'Divorce', its kinds, terms and consequences.
11 The end of the marriage by mutual agreement
12 The end of marriage by court decision
13 The legal consequences of ending marriage
14 The practices of Islamic family law rules in Ottoman Empire
