19 Objective of the Course: Explain the function and nature of the new Turkish literature, showing the changes in Turkish literature together with new literature, To introduce the first generation of writers belonging to the Tanzimat era.

21 Learning Outcomes:
1 The author explains how they affect social and political conditions.;
2 The texts, written to explain the relationship between the understanding of the period and inferences about the understanding of the period are available.;
3 After and the pre-Tanzimat mentality and cultural values, compares with the Tanzimat.;
4 Who intended to be introduced with the changes in the Tanzimat, discusses why they wanted.;
5 What types of literature, literary works written after the beginning of the Tanzimat determines to be seen.;
6 Find the main idea of the text, also discusses the main ideas have been received at that time considered other texts.;
7 Tutorial texts, mainly newspaper discusses the functions of culture and literature, was installed.;
8 Diction of poetry with style and sound, describe the relationship between writing period.;

1 Tanzimat era, historical, political and social events.
2 New Sources of New Turkish literature, general features of the Tanzimat Literature artists.
3 Tanzimat literature poetry, theater, stories and general characteristics of the novel.
4 1. The Tanzimat Generation. Changes in the species. Sinasi’s poetry.
5 Sinasi’s journalism, Sinasi’s theaters-Şair Evlenmesi
6 Ziya Pasha’s poetry
7 Terkib-i Bent, Terci-i Bent and Zafername.
8 Harabat, Şiir and İnşa article.
9 Namık Kemal’s poetry-Hürriyet(Freedom) ode
10 Namık Kemal’s journalism, novels.
11 Examination of İntibah novel.
12 Namık Kemal’s theaters
13 Vatan yahut Silistre
14 Namık Kemal's contributions to New Turkish literature.
