19 Objective of the Course: To have students understand the understanding the decoration in Turkish Islamic Art, the kinds of motifs and their usage, symbols and their development in the course of history, changes of motif according to their usage, changes of decoration in history and their causes.
20 Contribution of the Course to Professional Development
21 Learning Outcomes:
1 The ability to comprehend the decoration in Turks as a sub-branch of Islamic art;
2 The ability to analyze the roots of motifs used in Turkish Islamic art;
3 The ability to get an idea about preparing geometric motifs;
4 The ability to analyze how floral motifs are taken from the nature. ;
5 The ability to explain the place of picture and sculpture in Islamic art;
6 To get knowledge about Turkish calligraphy schools and grand masters;
7 The ability to comprehend evaluation of the motif on the surface in the arts such as tile and carpet etc.;
8 The ability to make comments about current situation of Turkish marbling art (ebru);
9 The ability to make comparisons between Turkish and Iranian tezhib and miniature arts;
10 The ability to make comments on contemporary understanding of decoration and modern influences ;
