Upon completion of this Module students should be able to: distinguish the special features of the International Court of Justice (ICJ);;;

Identify its structure;;;

Learn about the functions of the Court, and some of the challenges and prospects that it faces;;;

Explain the law governing its jurisdiction;;;

Analyse the procedure applicable to cases before the Court;;

Discuss some important cases involving the political and economic interests of States and individuals

Assess the usefulness of the Court for the resolution of international disputes ;;

Develop realistic expectations of its capacity to address contemporary problems and an awareness of its limitations;;
