19 Objective of the Course: To get introductory information about the sense organs and their anatomy; to learn the relationship with the nervous system and some clinics.
20 Contribution of the Course to Professional Development
21 Learning Outcomes:
1 Student will learn the basic anatomical structures concerning taste, touch, smell, and vision and hearing senses, and will differentiate the relationships between these senses. ;
2 Student will learn the anatomical basics of sense organs. ;
3 Student will learn some clinical manifestations about the sense organs. ;
4 Student will be able to pass along the information concerning the sense organs to the medical students. ;
22 Course Content:
Week Theoretical Practical
1 Sense of taste; tongue and pharynx. Anatomy of the tongue and pharynx.
2 Taste pathways, cortical centers. Taste pathways.
3 Sense of touching; the skin. Structure of the skin.
4 Pathways and cortical centers of touch sense. Pathways of touch sense.
5 Sense of smell, regio olfactoria Anatomy of the nose.
6 Pathways and cortical centers of smell. N. olfactorius, pathways of smell.
7 Orbita and accessories of eye. Structures of orbita, margins and neighboring structures, palpebra, lacrimal gland.
8 Bulbus oculi, sclera, choroidea Bulbus oculi, sclera, choroidea
9 Retina Histologic structures of the retina, its layers, orbital vessels.
10 Pathways and cortical centers of vision. Optic nerve, Pathways and cortical centers of vision.
11 Anatomy of the auricula, meatus acusticus externus and middle ear. Auricula, meatus acusticus externus, auris media.
12 Anatomy of the internal ear. Auris interna, the membranous and osseous labyrinths.
13 Pathways and cortical centers of hearing. N. cochlearis hearing pathways.
14 Pathways and cortical centers of equilibrium. N. vestibularis and equilibrium pathways.
