19 Objective of the Course: The aim of this course is to inform students on main policies and their results in the social and economic areas from the period of the collapse of the Ottoman Empire to 2000. Also it is aimed to give students the ability to analyze these processes.

1 To learn social-economic processes and resources of 20th century Turkey;
2 To have information about concepts of economy;
3 To understand and compare different periods of modernization process of the country;
4 To have ability of critical assessment of learned information;
5 To be informed on independent economy policies;
6 To be informed on dependent economy policies;
7 To be able to evaluate economic and social problems of today in a historical perspective;
8 To learn about the processes of urbanization in Turkey;
9 To be able to evaluate positive and negative developments in Turkey’s economy within cause-result relationship;
