19 Objective of the Course: Understanding the fundamental notion and concepts of individualized Labour Law (employment Law), Collective Labour Law & Social Security Law Scrutinizing legislations in force Earning practical and a theorical skills to resolve disputes in the areas of law mentioned.

21 Learning Outcomes:
1 Describing the objective and content of labour law & Social Security Law.;
2 Interpreting the labour (employment) contact. Understanding and interpreting the obligations arising from labour (employment) contract.;
3 Understanding the procedures and legal consequences of the termination of the employment contract;
4 Understanding and interpreting the basic principles concerning the regulation of the work;
5 Describing the trade (labour) unions of employees and employers and their functions Interpreting the concept of union freedom.;
6 Defining the collective bargaining and collective agreement. Understanding and internalizing the methods of Collective Dispute Resolution.;
7 Evaluating the application scope of the Social Insurance and Universal Health Insurance Act. Studying the financing of the social security system.;
8 Evaluating the types of short term and long term social insurance branches Analyzing the concepts of industrial accident and occupational disease. ;
9 Understanding general health insurance & unemployment insurance.;
10 Distinguishing main doctrinal dissidences. Being aware of the jurisprudence of the Supreme (Appeal) Courts;

Theoretical Practical
Historical background & Fundamental notions of the Individual Labour (Employment) Law- employee, employer and the employers' representative
The relationship between the employer and sub-employer
Workplace and transfer of workplace, The scope of the Labour Acts (Statutes)
The types of employment contracts
Formation of employment contract, limits of freedom to contract in Individual Labour (Employment) Law
Rights and duties of the employers and employees arising from the employment contract
Termination of the employment contract- concept of the termination by the parties
Period of notice and compensation of notice
The scope of the regulations concerning job security- termination by the employer on the grounds of valid reasons
Procedure of termination of employment contract and the consequences arising from the termination
Termination of the employment contract on the grounds of just reason- Severance pay
Working Time (work days, working hours), The right of rest- weekly rest- Holidays -annual paid leave
Unionization and historical development of trade (labour) Labour unions
Right and Freedom of association in Unions and legal guaranties of the right
