19 | Objective of the Course: | Art is a good tool to manage uncertainty and ambivalence in clinical practice and also for health professionals to understand themselves and their patients better. If it is used in medical education, arts can have instrumental (better recognition of visual signs, developing skills to deal with uncertainty, etc) and non-instrumental (personal development, new ways of thinking beyond biomedical perspective, etc) functions. Aim of this course is by using these instrumental and non-instrumental functions of art, inform medical students about artists, their arts and diseases affected them in their artworks. |
