19 Objective of the Course: It aims to provide students with the knowledge on the political principles of modernism, modern institutions such as nation-state and concepts like national identity, liberal democracy and the legitimacy crisis of liberal democracy. Besides, it intends to show that as an alternative dialogical democracy theories offer to eliminate this crisis.
20 Contribution of the Course to Professional Development
21 Learning Outcomes:
1 To identify the political principles of modernism.;
2 To be able to distinguish the political institutions of modernism. ;
3 To have knowledge on the theories of liberal democracy and the criticism directed to those theories. ;
4 To identify the political aims of globalization and post-modernism, and to evaluate the critiques of identity politics. ;
5 To be able to recognize the concept of independence and the notion of justice included in dialogical democracy theories. ;
6 To judge the boundaries of public sphere and the process of civil society that are discussed in dialogical democracy theories;
7 To identify and describe the theory of dialogical democracy.;
8 To be able to interpret the contemporary political events within the framework of this course.;
